A New Startup Presented at 1MC (1 Million Cups)

I thought it would be worth a few minutes of your time to learn about the startup that our team of four is working on (Julie, Patrick, Alex and myself). The name of the company is Startup Commons and we presented at 1MC this Wednesday (2/6/2013).

1MC is a Kauffman Foundation program. It is a weekly get-together for entrepreneurs to talk about their startup efforts as well as network with each other as a community. Each week 2 new startups each give a 6 minute presentation of where they are in their startup process. After the presentation, there is a 20 minute question and answer session.

1MC meets every Wednesday at 9am at the Kauffman Foundation.  Additionally, they do a great job of streaming the presentations live.  You can also visit their website to see an archived version of each week’s presentations.

This week was our week to present. There were over 230 people in attendance! The first presentation is another great startup called BodeeFit.  We work out of the same space as them at Think Big Partners.

Bodeefit’s presentation is the first presentation, with Q&A following. I would recommend watching both, but if you are looking to watch Startup Commons it is 32 minutes into the video.
